060819_2.jpg

The Elk Hair Caddis is a well known pattern, created by the Pennsylvania fly tyer Al Troth back in 1957.

The pattern was made to imitate adult caddis or small stoneflies.

This variant is all like, but I have changed the elk with Chamois hair

Hook : Ahrex FW502 Dry Fly Light #10-16

Tying Thread : Semperfli Classic Waxed thread 12/0, Orange

Body : Semperfli Superfine Dubbing Sf2300, Cinnamon

Bodyhackle : Whiting, Golden Badger Cape

Wing : Chamois Hair

To make a stronger fly, you can add a ribbing. To secure the hackle and making it more resistant for sharp fishing teeth. Try this fly as a fish-finder, and you may will be suprised
