Wolly Bugger is an artificial fly commonly categorized as a wet fly or as a streamer. First time mentioned in a discussion in the book Good flies.
Well known streamer who have caught a lot of big fishes for fly fishermen all over the world. This pattern have a thinner body and a sideline of UV cheeks
Hook : Mustad R74 NP-BR size #2-8
Tying Thread : Semperfli Nanosilk 12/0, Black
Tail : Marabou, Black and two pcs. flash
Sideline : Semperfli Buzzer Cheeks, Fluoro Yellow
Body : Dubbing, Black
Thorax : Dubbing, UV Red
Body Hackle : Whiting, Black (use the big feathers)
Front Hackle : Whiting, Black (use the big feathers)
Sometimes I tie this with a bead head in front. But on this on the picture I have used lead under thorax. The sidelines is often the trigger-point - and the red little dubbing point in thorax imitates gills on small fishes.
